The “Hillsborough for the Holidays” Committee is comprised of members from the former 250th Anniversary Celebration Committee and local businesses, who have been involved since our big year in 2022. Prior to that Leigh and Joyce Bosse from The Messenger Newspaper, and Herm and Yvonne Wiegleman had formed “Hillsborough Pride” to sponsor a full day “Olde Fashioned Christmas” and did it for more than 20 years. Before them our Chamber of Commerce sponsored a Town Christmas Celebration. Thanks to ALL of the generous and giving people in our community Hillsborough has had an abundance of cheer over the years, and the current committee is working hard to grow “Hillsborough for the Holidays” as a community event in perpetuity.

This year’s “Hillsborough for the Holidays” celebration on Saturday, December 6, 2025 will feature Hillsborough’s first ever Holiday Light Parade and everyone is invited to join in the festivities!
The “Hillsborough for the Holidays” Committee is looking for joyous participants to enter floats, cars, or other types of vehicles – or walk! – in a festive, dazzling parade. The key is to twinkle and shine as much as possible – light up everything! – your float, your car, you and your friends and family – everything and everyone – hats, bracelets, necklaces, glasses, lit up inflatables, glow sticks, light-up clothing – let your imagination run wild.
Mark your calendars now for this special day – and start planning your creative contribution to the parade!
